Philanthropy at Marian
Part of our corporate culture is to find ways to continuously improve our business. We take this one step further by dedicating significant resources to the improvement of the communities where we live and work through philanthropy. Marian supports a multitude of organizations through the donation of event space, financial contributions, and dedication of employees’ time.
Employees love to participate in our Run as One 5K, in which all of our U.S. locations fundraise for a local organization of their choosing. Marian’s corporate office will then match up to $10,000 for each location, resulting in record-breaking fundraising for charity.
Full-time employees at Indianapolis are also given the opportunity to participate in the Guided Giving program. In Guided Giving, Marian offers a 10:1 match of one annual employee donation to any IRS recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Since the program’s inception, Marian and employees have donated to nearly 500 local and national charitable organizations.
Marian makes it a priority to engage with our communities. Below are some of the many organizations our employees have chosen for us to support over the years.
Teachers’ Treasures
Marian is proud to sponsor the Indianapolis Organization, Teachers’ Treasures. Teachers’ Treasures obtains and distributes school supplies free to teachers and students of need.
In August 2020, Marian donated over 100 pounds of school supplies. By meeting this goal, a few lucky employees got the opportunity to pie our President, William Witchger. It was a fun way to support this wonderful charity.
Fort Worth Trinity Trash Bash
Marian Fort Worth employees and their families participate in the Trinity Trash Bash. This is an annual community cleanup effort where individuals take a day to clean up litter and trash to keep their neighborhoods clean.
Northern Illinois Food Bank
Each month, Marian Chicago employees volunteer at the Northern Illinois Food Bank. They complete a variety of tasks including re-packaging and organizing food.
Milwaukee Hunger Task Force
Each year, employees with Marian Milwaukee organize a food drive for the Milwaukee Hunger Task Force. They collect food and monetary donations that are provided to support this free local food bank.
